Miriam Rihani

Miriam is an experienced legal operations specialist who is passionate about helping lawyers work in the most efficient and effective manner possible, not only for the benefit of the organisations that they support, but for their own wellbeing and professional development and to help reshape the legal profession.  

Miriam has a deep understanding of in-house legal practice and the current challenges faced by the legal profession generally.  She works with legal teams of all kinds to help them transform their practice, plan for the future and drive value for their organisations. 

Miriam works with our APAC clients advising on all aspects of the delivery of their legal services including technology, resourcing, process and capability. 

PREVIOUS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Starting her career as a lawyer, Miriam worked in-house at a number of large financial services institutions before moving into the legal operations space where she has undertaken a wide range of legal operations projects including technology selection and implementation, resourcing design, implementation and design of data metrics and reporting, and external legal provider panel design and management.  

Miriam was instrumental in establishing the successful legal operations business Lexvoco (since acquired by LOD) in Australia before moving to Gilbert + Tobin as Head of Legal Transformation.  She has also worked with KPMG Australia to design and establish their legal operations offering and has engaged as a direct consultant with leading APAC corporate and government organisations. 

EDUCATION/SPEAKING EXPERTISE

Miriam holds a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours and Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of Technology Sydney.  She has a Lean Six Sigma yellow belt and currently holds a NSW Legal Practicing Certificate.  She also holds a degree in music from the University of Sydney

Miriam has served as a frequent speaker and consultant on the topics of legal design thinking, process design, data metrics and reporting and many other aspects of legal operations.
