Jason Paroff is the Senior Director and Practice Lead of the forensics practice for Epiq. In this capacity, Mr. Paroff leads the U.S. forensics and data collections practice and coordinates resources and services globally. In addition to his management role, Mr. Paroff has examined numerous computers and computer systems for evidence of fraud, theft of trade secrets, harassment, and other improper civil and criminal conduct. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Academy (three-year term — 2025-2028) and is a past Chair of the Digital and Multimedia Sciences Section (2020-2022). Mr. Paroff has testified in federal district court as an expert witness and has been a conference presenter and a guest lecturer at Columbia University’s School of Business. Mr. Paroff has also taught digital forensics to Fortune 500 corporations, attorneys, and members of foreign police and intelligence agencies.
Prior to joining Epiq, Mr. Paroff worked as a prosecutor for six years in the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office in New York and spent nearly 15 years building and running the digital forensics operations for a large consulting and data recovery firm. During his tenure with the District Attorney’s office, Mr. Paroff headed the asset forfeiture section and supervised major criminal and civil investigations involving insurance, bank, consumer, credit card, and other frauds. Mr. Paroff was actively involved in the seizure and subsequent search of many computers and sat on the County of Rockland’s Computer Network Committee. The majority of Mr. Paroff’s career has been dedicated to investigating and prosecuting white-collar crime, computer crime, and civil asset forfeiture cases as well as conducting digital forensics and running large-scale digital forensics operations.
Mr. Paroff is a licensed attorney and is admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut, and the federal district courts of the Southern and Eastern districts of New York.
