Epiq Roundtable
The Fab Four: Fundamental Concepts To Optimise the Corporate Legal Department
Sixty-minute roundtable session running four times during the Summit.
Session 1 and 2: Thursday, 15 May, 12:15 – 13:15 and 16:00 – 17:00
Session 3 and 4: Friday, 16 May, 10:15 – 11:15 and 11:45 – 12:45
Over the past 20 years, the only constant in the legal industry has been the steady growth in work complexity. Every organisation has felt the consequences of approximately 50 percent more laws and 200 percent more regulations. For corporate legal departments globally, this complexity equates to an annual and compounding ‘do more’ tax — which is, on average 3-5 percent (individual companies and sectors may differ). If the volume of tasks continues to grow at a higher rate than budgets, legal teams will need to do more just to tread water.
It's never been more critical for corporate legal departments to effectively categorise tasks, identify the right solutions, and maximise their return on efforts.
In this session, David Cambria, Managing Director at Epiq and founder of the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) and ACC Legal Operations Chapter, will guide an interactive discussion, exploring the ‘Return on Effort’ Framework that leverages AI and other advanced technologies to help legal departments:
- Automate repetitive, time-consuming workflows.
- Delegate work and decision-making to the appropriate individuals and teams.
- Eliminate low-value work that is better served by technology.
- Elevate lawyers by having them focus on the highest-value work.
Through interactive (and anonymous) polling, participants will share their own experiences, which will be synthesised and shared after the event.
