James Hobrough, BSc MBA Senior Manager, Information Governance Advisory

Through his role as Senior Manager, Information Governance Advisory at Epiq, James works with organisations to design and implement information governance and privacy programmes that strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and enable effective use of data. He partners with clients across functions to translate strategy into practical frameworks, ensuring alignment across people, processes, and technology. 

Drawing on experience from both public sector and commercial environments, James supports organisations navigating complex transformation and regulatory demands. He works closely with stakeholders at all levels to drive adoption, build capability, and deliver measurable improvements in business performance. His approach combines broad strategic thinking with a clear focus on execution, ensuring programmes are embedded and sustainable. 

James has delivered global information governance and privacy initiatives across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas, supporting compliance with frameworks including GDPR, LGPD, and PIPEDA. He has worked across sectors including defence, aviation, healthcare, and financial services, advising on the management of risk within Microsoft 365 and unstructured data environments. 

Prior to joining Epiq, James served as a Data Protection Officer for a global organisation, where he led enterprise-wide programmes to strengthen compliance and operational maturity. He is a PRINCE2 certified practitioner and Six Sigma Green Belt.
