Streamlining Arbitration Filings and Evidence Review for Maritime Disputes
SINGAPORE, April 9, 2026 — The Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) has launched SCMA Vault, a secure, centralized document‑filing portal powered by Epiq Narrate™, a platform for arbitration evidence management and presentation. Launched in December 2025, the portal gives legal teams and arbitrators a single, structured way to submit, access, review, and manage case materials for maritime disputes across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.
Around 30% of the world’s maritime economy transits the Malacca Strait every year, which extends through the Singapore Strait, driving continued growth in the scale and complexity of shipping and trade disputes. Law firms and arbitrators require secure, simplified ways to manage high‑volume, multi‑format evidence. Epiq Narrate replaces fragmented filing practices with an audit‑ready platform.
With SCMA Vault, law firms can submit arbitration bundles electronically in a format that aligns with SCMA processes, streamlining compliance, version control, and filing deadlines. Arbitrators gain organized, timely access to all case materials in one location, enabling focused review, annotation, and preparation without relying on personal storage or manual workarounds.
“SCMA Vault reflects our commitment to providing the maritime arbitration community with a filing experience that serves the complexity of modern shipping disputes,” said Bernice Yeoh, Executive Director at SCMA. “By working with Epiq, we are giving arbitrators and legal teams an efficient way to manage evidence, reduce administrative friction, and focus on the substance of each case.”
“Legal teams handling maritime arbitration need a practical way to manage complex evidence without adding operational risk or overhead,” said Lilian Goh, Vice President, ASEAN Legal Solutions and Asia Court Reporting at Epiq. “Epiq Narrate gives SCMA Vault the foundation to streamline filings, strengthen decision‑readiness for arbitrators, and provide legal teams with confidence that their submissions are complete, secure, and aligned with arbitrator expectations.”
Epiq Narrate is a four-time winner of the Australasian Lawyer Court Reporting Service Provider Award.
