Mike Guernon works with Am Law firms to enhance risk management practices, address evolving professional responsibility requirements, and better integrate compliance technology into the fabric of firm operations. His three decades of experience center on Intapp implementations and enterprise risk design across conflicts, intake, KYC/AML, Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs), and compliance.
Mike spent 16 years at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP as Global Director of Intake, Risk & Compliance, where he led firmwide risk and onboarding transformation. His consulting ranges from Am Law 10 firms to national, regional, and mid-sized clients.
He is a cofounder of the National Association of Risk & Conflicts (NARC). NARC is a national organization of Am Law 100 and 200 law firm risk management professionals that focuses on emerging trends in legal risk management. This includes legal ethics, legal technology, and law firm administration. Mike frequently speaks on and teaches applied ethics, including at the California State Bar Annual Ethics Symposium, industry events, and in academic settings. Mike has dual degrees in English and Political Science from Rhode Island College and a Master’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Chico.
