Covid-19 message from President and General Manager, Global Business Transformation Solutions, Michelle Deichmeister – We are all likely facing unique, personal and professional challenges amid the COVID-19 crisis as we work to ensure the safety of our families, employees and businesses. Our number one priority is the health and well-being of our employees and you – our valued partner. We hope that you, your families, and co-workers are healthy and safe and we appreciate your ongoing business and support during this unprecedented time.
We have been working closely with our 160+ clients across 500 locations to implement custom business continuity action plans in response to the tremendous challenges we are all facing. We thought it may be helpful to learn how others in the legal community are handling the crisis and possibly help identify a solution that may be right for you:
As of today, none of our employees have tested positive for COVID-19, and we hope for the continued well-being of all 2500 GBTS employees that help contribute to your law firm family every day. We are doing everything we can to ensure our employees are able to weather this storm with as little impact as possible, such as advancing PTO time if needed and extending PTO carry-over deadlines. As the government issues safe harbor letters, we have worked with our legal department to draft letters for essential employee designees so they can report to work each day. I am meeting with our Sr. Leadership Teams several times per week to provide support and ensure we have opportunities to communicate and problem solve together.
- Over 70% of our client sites are still open
- Operating models vary from full-time teams in less impacted areas, to full teams working rotating schedules in moderately impacted areas
- In more heavily impacted areas, some clients have Epiq and firm staff working remotely, and others have rotating skeleton crews
- For some clients, we have set-up small off-site operations elsewhere in the same city or in less impacted geographies to continue with urgent work
- In other instances, we are implementing new operating models such as digital mailroom capabilities
