NEW YORK – Oct. 13, 2020 - Epiq, a global leader in the legal services industry, announced that Crystal Utley, Lea Morris and Aideen Gaffney, vice presidents for class action and mass tort at Epiq, along with director, Lauren McGeever, will be participating on three separate Mass Torts Made Perfect (MTMP) panels during the upcoming MTMP Virtual Vegas Conference.

The panels will take three different tracks. Crystal, Vice President, will be presenting on a panel titled “Striking Out On Your Own: Women-Owned Law Firms” and is featured as part of the Business of Law agenda.  Lea, Vice President, is speaking on a panel entitled “Leave No Stone Unturned: How to Rock Mass Torts” and resides within the Nuts & Bolts track.  Aideen, Vice President, and Lauren, Director, will be featured discussing “The 123s of Digital Payments in Class Action Settlements,” which is a part of the Class Action agenda. Aideen and Crystal’s panels are on October 14th at 2:15pm and 4:30pm EST, respectively. Lea’s Nuts & Bolts panel is set for 2:15pm EST on October 15th, 2020.

During each of their panels, each of our three nationally recognized experts will highlight best practices, along with tips and tricks to consider, in addition to other critical information on their respective topics, some of which includes:

  • “Striking Out On Your Own: Women-Owned Law Firms”
    • Advantages of female-owned firms; preparations to consider; implications around leadership appointments
  • “Leave No Stone Unturned: How to Rock Mass Torts”
    • Effective execution during case development, including intake, communications, record retrieval, and how to prepare for depositions
  • “The 123s of Digital Payments in Class Action Settlements”

“MTMP is a strong partner of Epiq. We look forward to participating in their first official Virtual Vegas conference, which allows the mass tort industry to stay connected and educated remotely, with many of the expected benefits of their in-person conference” said Crystal Utley, vice president at Epiq. “We hope to attend their future conferences in Las Vegas with our friends and colleagues once travel capabilities open back up.”

Mass Torts Made Perfect was founded in 2000 by the law firm of Levin Papantonio, and currently is led by the firm’s named partners Fred Levin, Mike Papantonio and Mark Proctor, in addition to Keith Givens with The National Trial Lawyers. The bi-annual conference was created with the idea of convening attorneys involved in the practice of mass tort and class action litigation in an effort to share ideas and resources.
